PAWTUCKET, R.I. – After multiple standout performances at the Little East Conference/New England Alliance Championship on Saturday, All-American Wadeline Jonathas (Gonaives, Haiti), and Taylor Driggers (Lisbon, Conn.) have both earned Little East Conference weekly honors.
Jonathas picked-up the Track Athlete of the Week accolade after winning the 100-, 200-, and 400-meter dashes. In the 100, she posted a time of 11.99 seconds, while in the 200 she finished with a time of 23.99. She would go on to trip the sensor in the 400 with a time of 55.80 seconds, as she once again dominated the field of competitors. She also anchored the Beacons 4x400-meter relay team which turned in a conference and NEA record time of 3:50.95, which has the Beacons sitting fifth in the country
For Driggers, he final outdoor championship meet saw the Connecticut native win the long and triple jumps. Her distances of 18-04.50 feet and 38-09.50 feet established new LEC records in both events.
To date Driggers sits third in the country in the triple jump, while Jonathas leads the nation in the 200- and 400-meter dashes and the long jump. She currently sits second in DIII in the 100-meter dash.
