PAWTUCKET, R.I. – After registering multiple first place finishes at the Tufts University Invite members of the 13th ranked women's track and field program were honored by the Little East Conference weekly awards program.
Sophomore Wadeline Jonathas (Gonaives, Haiti) was named Track Athlete of the Week, while the 4x400-meter relay team of Jonathas, Lexy Bean (Danvers, Mass.), Olivia Burnes (Paxton, Mass.), and Taylor Driggers (Lisbon, Conn.) were named the Relay Team of the Week.
In her first meet of 2018, Jonathas registered the two fastest times in Division III in the 60- and 200-meter dashes. On Saturday, Jonathas won the 60 with a time of 7.61 seconds, while in the 200 she took another first-place finish with a final time of 24.95 seconds.
For the 4x400-meter relay team they too brought home a first-place finish after posting a combined time of 4:09.83. That time currently has the Beacons ranked 15th in the country in the event.
