BOSTON, Mass.—UMass Boston women's tennis is looking to put together a rebound season under first-year head coach Charles Lai's guidance this fall.
The Beacons will host six matches this fall at the B.C. High Tennis Courts and are scheduled to play 14 matches in total during the fall portion of their 2019-2020 season.
UMass Boston will kick off their season with a road trip to Maine over Labor Day weekend. The Beacons will open the year at Husson University on Saturday, August 31 at 2 p.m., in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Less than 24 hours later, the Beacons will clash with Thomas College (Maine) at 1 p.m. on September 1.
The Beacons will open their home slate on Thursday, September 5, when they take on Boston rivals Suffolk University at 3:30 p.m.
Lai and the Beacons will get their first taste of Little East Conference play on Saturday, September 7. The Beacons will travel to two-time defending LEC Regular Season and Tournament Champion Rhode Island College at 1 p.m.
UMass Boston will open LEC play at home a week later, when they host Western Connecticut State University at 1 p.m.
The Beacons will have a pivotal stretch of matches at the end of September into October. UMass Boston will take on the three teams that finished directly ahead of the them in the LEC standings from September 24-October 2. They will host the University of Southern Maine and Worcester State University and then travel to Bridgewater State University.
