Nuha Muntasser Picks Up Second Little East Conference Rookie of the Week Award

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.—UMass Boston freshman Nuha Muntasser (Braintree, Mass.) picked up her second Little East Conference Rookie of the Week Award, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Muntasser is now tied with Plymouth State's Nikki Lund with a league-high two Rookie of the Week selections, after finishing 3-1 on the week to help UMass Boston post a 1-1 record.

The freshman from Braintree, Mass. defeated her opponent from Wentworth in straight-sets, 6-3, 6-0 at number one singles, while combining with Solveig Castelli (Precojo, France) to post a 2-0 record at number two doubles.

Muntasser suffered her only loss of the week to Bridgewater State's Jenna Williamson, the defending Little East Player of the Year and this week Little East Conference Player of the Week.

UMass Boston's number one singles player is second on the team with her 12 total victories and has posted a 12-11 record through 11 matches this season.
