PAWTUCKET, R.I. – For the first time this season, junior goalkeeper Alyssa Fugiel (Easthampton, Mass.) and freshman forward Madison Grabowski (Easthampton, Mass.) have both recognized by the Little East Conference weekly honors program.
For Fugiel she earned Goalkeeper of the Week honors after registering eight saves in her 2017 debut on Saturday. Against Rhode Island College, the standout keeper led the Beacons to a huge 1-1 tie in a rain soaked affair. The tie keeps the Beacons in a two-way tie for fourth place in the conference standings. The weekly honor marks the seventh in the career of Fugiel.
Grabowski continues to have a stellar freshman campaign, as she leads the Beacons in goals scored with three and total points with eight. She has recorded at-least one point in four of the last five games (3g, 2a). Last week, the Easthampton native recorded one assist and one goal. She assisted on the Beacons lone goal in the 2-1 loss at Salem State University. She then notched her third conference goal of 2017 as she scored the lone tally in the 1-1 draw with the Anchorwomen.
