NORTHFIELD, Vt.--#2/2 Norwich University scored four special teams goals, to earn a 7-0 win over UMass Boston women's hockey Friday night at Kreitzberg Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Cadets scored at least two goals in all three periods, to earn a decisive victory in a battle between the top two teams in the New England Hockey Conference standings.
Sarah Schwenzfeier led the Cadets with a goal and two assists, while Amanda Conway and Robyn Foley each added two goals apiece.
In net, Lauren King posted her 19th career shutout with 15 saves on 15 shots.
UMass Boston senior goalie Rachel Myette (Duxbury, Mass.) made 35 saves on 42 shots in the loss. Myette made at least 10 saves in all three periods against the nation's leading scoring offense.
Edy Moritz (Guilford, Conn.) went 13-for-26 in the face-off dot to lead all Beacons skaters. Alli Bianchini (Sterling Heights, Mich.), Rachel Peacock (Duxbury, Mass.), Kaleigh Beauregard (Gaylord, Mich.) and Bri Colucci (Lancaster, N.Y.) each tied for the team lead with two shots.
Norwich scored each of their first four goals on special teams.
Foley opened the scoring at 2:30 with a power-play goal. Alyssa Hulst made it 2-0 at 7:41 with another power-play goal, before Schwenzfeier made it 3-0 with a short-handed goal at 16:10.
Conway added a power-play goal at 7:57 of the second period to make it 4-0.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Norwich outshot the Beacons 42-15 in the contest.
- The Cadets went 3-9 on the power play, while the Beacons went 0-5.
- With the win, the Cadets swept the season-series against the Beacons and moved to 15-4 all-time against UMass Boston.
- Peacock made her return to the lineup, after missing the last nine games.
The Beacons will look to get back on track Saturday, when they travel to Castleton University at 3 p.m.
