CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On the first day of the NCAA Division III Regional Championship meet, senior Dom Nda (Pittsfield, Mass.) qualified for the finals in the 100-meter dash Saturday afternoon at Harrison Track.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Nda was the lone Beacon to qualify for the 100 finals as he won the event with a time of 10.68 seconds. That mark was just .02 seconds off his program record time. Stefan Powell (Hyde Park, Mass.) despite posting a personal best time, just narrowly missed out on qualifying for the finals in the 100. He posted a time of 10.99 seconds to finish in ninth in the prelims.
Bless Amedoadzi recorded an 11th place finish with his time of 11.08 seconds to edge out Worcester State's John Ojukwu.
In the 10,000-meter run Jimmy Cannon finished in 10th place with a time of 33:38.23.
Virgil Harrell III was also in action at Friday's regional championship. The freshman, who had a stellar showing at the conference championship, posted a final distance of 20-09.25 feet in the long jump.
The Beacons will be in action all day tomorrow at MIT on the final day of the regional championship.
