CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – On the first day of the 2013 NEICAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, three Beacons competed against some of the top athletes at the Division I, II, and III level Friday afternoon. This year's championship was hosted by Boston University.
Competing on the first day of the meet was senior Samara Faustin (Boston, Mass.), freshman Hulerie McGuffie (Lynn, Mass.) and senior Henry Morales (Chelsea, Mass.).
Faustin finished in 24th place in the 200 meter dash with her time of 25.70 seconds which set a new personal best for the Boston native. McGuffie earned a 23rd place finish in the 400 meter dash with her new personal best of 58.25 seconds. The freshman also finished in 21st place in the long jump with a leap of 16-07.75 feet, which marked her second best jump of the indoor season.
For Morales, he competed in the 200 meter dash and finished in 32nd place with a time of 23.05 seconds overall.
The Beacons return to action tomorrow for day two of the NEICAAA.
