Men's Soccer Aiming To Return To Top of LEC In 2019

BOSTON, Mass.—UMass Boston men's soccer is set to host eight home contests this fall at James Cotter Field.

The three-time Little East Conference Champions are looking to get back to the NCAA Tournament, after seeing their season end in the LEC Semifinals in back-to-back seasons.

This year's non-conference schedule features an array of strong competition from the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC).

UMass Boston will kick off their season on Labor Day weekend. The Beacons will travel to Cambridge to take on MIT on Friday, August 30 at 7 p.m. in their season opener. Three days later, head coach Jake Beverlin's squad will kick off their home slate on Labor Day (Monday September 2), when they host Boston rival Wentworth Institute of Technology at 2 p.m.

The Beacons will begin Little East Conference play on Saturday, September 21 at 1 p.m., when they travel to take on Castleton University for the first time in program history.

UMass Boston will return home on Monday (September 23) to take on defending MASCAC Tournament Champion Bridgewater State University at 7 p.m. The Beacons will continue their season-long, three-game homestand on Saturday, when they host LEC rival Eastern Connecticut State University at 4 p.m.

The Beacons will close out the regular-season with back-to-back games against 2018 NCAA Tournament Teams. In their final non-conference game, UMass Boston will travel to Springfield College (6 p.m.) on September 29.

Four days later, UMass Boston will host LEC Tournament Champions Western Connecticut State University on Senior Day. The Colonials and Beacons have combined to win the last five LEC Tournament Championships and three of the past five regular-season titles.
