Castro-Dreher Earns Second LEC Goalie of the Week Honors

BOSTON, Mass.—For the second time this season and fourth time in his career, junior goalie Omar Castro-Dreher (Woonsocket, R.I.) was named the Little East Conference Goalie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Castro-Dreher made a season-high 10 saves on Friday night, to lead UMass Boston past Keene State College 2-1 in overtime.

The junior keeper kept the Beacons in the game in the second half, when he made four stellar saves in a row off corner kicks during a three-minute span.

With his third save of the game, Castro-Dreher set a new career-high in saves in a single-season.

On the season, he ranks third in the Little East in saves (68), fifth in goals against average (1.26) and sixth in save percentage (.756).

Castro-Dreher and the third-seeded Beacons will host #6 University of Southern Maine on Tuesday night at 5:00 p.m. in the Little East Conference Quarterfinals.
