WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – A pair of goals by Nick Starkowski carried the Warriors of Eastern Connecticut State University to a 2-0 Little East Conference win over men's soccer Wednesday afternoon at Nevers Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Starkowski gave the Warriors a very early lead as he headed home a cross in just the third minute of the contest. The forward would strike for the second time in the conference match-up in the 77th minute on an unassisted play to clinch the win for ECSU.
With the victory the Warriors remain in second place in the conference standings, while the Beacons sit in third place, with 10 points.
Other than Starkowski's goals, Wednesday's contest was a stalemate by two of the top teams in the Little East. In total there were just 16 shots in the contest, with each team putting three on target.
Josh Crespo (Curitiba, Brazil) had two of the Beacons three attempts on goal but was unable to put it past the Warriors' Ryan Murphy, who improved to 9-2-0 with the win.

- Wednesday's loss to the Warriors marked the first for the Beacons since the 2016 regular season; The Beacons would later earn a 7-2 win over ECSU in the semi-final round of the LEC Tournament in the same season
