Cory Schneider returns for his second season with the UMass Boston men's hockey coaching staff in 2018-19. 

In his first season with the Beacons, Schneider stepped in as the Beacons' lead assistant and helped the program post a 17-10 record and 11-7 mark in conference play. He also helped develop one of the most talented rosters in program history. Senior captain Colin Larkin became the first player in program history to be named National Player of the Year after taking home the Sid Watson Award. Freshman defenseman Nick Albano joined Larkin by earning All-American honors and was named the National Rookie of the Year. In total, Schneider worked with three All-Region honorees and five All-Conference players. 

He spent the previous two seasons working as an assistant coach at Wentworth Institute of Technology. While with the Leopards, Schneider helped with planning and running practices, recruitment, the team's strength and conditioning program and breaking down film. 

Schneider began his coaching career wihile working at his alma mater, Ohio State University, as a youth hockey camp instructor from 2009-2011. He worked with youth from the ages of 6-12 in the planning and execution of week-long camps. 

Prior to entering the coaching field, Schneider played professional hockey from 2012-2013 with the Fort Wayne Komets and Cincinnati Cyclones of the East Coast Hockey League, and the Fort Worth Brahamas of the Central Hockey League. Schneider played collegiately with Ohio State University from 2008-2012 and was named a captain during his senior season. He was recognized as a four-time Ohio State University Scholar Athlete and was named the team's Most Improved Player during the 2010-2011 season. 

He graduated Ohio State in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
