Ryan Weston is in his first year as an assistant coach at UMass Boston.

Weston joins the Beacons after spending four years playing professional hockey. The former forward spent three-plus years in the American Hockey League (08-11), splitting his time between the Albany River Rats and the San Antonio Rampage. In his time with the two teams, Weston appeared in 136 games, recording 12 goals and nine assists.

He spent the 2011-12 season with the Las Vegas Wranglers of the East Coast Hockey League where he registered a career-high 10 goals and 14 assists in 54 games.

A Boston University graduate, Weston was a four-year member of the Terriers program and appeared in 31 or games in each of his four seasons. As a senior, Weston was named an assistant captain.
