Buco began his collegiate career at Division I UMass Lowell. He played 2.5 seasons with the Riverhawks and recorded 10 goals, 18 assists and 28 total points across 61 contests.
After he finished his playing career with UMass Boston, Buco went on to play professionally for three seasons.
He earned a brief stint with the Elmira Jackets of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) at the end of his senior season, before putting together a career year in 2015-16. Buco scored 18 goals and added 24 assists across 54 games with the Lousiana IceGators and Pensacola Ice Flyers of the Southern Professional Hockey League. In the playoffs that season, Buco scored three goals and added four assists to lead the Ice Flyers to the President’s Cup Title.
Buco then finished up his career with a brief stint in Germany. He played in several games with ERC Ingolstadt in the Champions League during the 2016-17 season.
After hanging up his skates, Buco returned to his home state of Rhode Island to coach. He spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Bishop Hendricken High School. During his time there, the school won two state championships.
