BOSTON, Mass.—Rob Florentino (West Roxbury, Mass.) and Peter MacIntyre (Norfolk, Mass.) wrapped up an extremely successful winter with two more awards Friday, as the pair of Beacons stars were named to the USCHO.Com All-American Teams.
Florentino picked up his second Third-Team All-American honor and became the first UMB player to be named a USCHO.Com All-American in the decade-long existence of the website. MacIntyre was recognized twice by USCHO.com, earning a spot on the national All-Rookie Team and finishing as one of two runner-ups, to national Rookie of the Year Shaquille Merasty of Adrian College .
UMass Boston was one of just five schools to have multiple players honored and the only school in the 10-team ECAC East to have a player recognized.
Earlier this month Florentino was named a Third Team American Hockey Coaches Association All-American, joining Bill Innocent ('92) as the only UMass Boston players to be named All-Americans in program history.
The senior defenseman earned First Team ECAC East honors after setting new career highs across the board, with seven goals, 21 assists and 28 total points. Florentino finished the season third amongst Division III blue-liners with 1.04 points per game and played a pivotal role running the Beacons power-play.
MacIntyre is no stranger to major awards either, after becoming the first player in program history to be named ECAC East Rookie of the year.
The freshman left-winger paced the Beacons with 19 goals and finished second on the team with 32 points. He tallied three game-winning goals, a pair of power-play goals and one of two hat tricks for UMB this season.
