A two-time team Most Valuable Player (1971 and 1972) and a nativeof Southern California, Craig Cullen '72 is considered one of theprogram’s top two way forwards. During his four seasons withthe Warriors, Cullen was instrumental in leading Boston State tothe 1969 and 1971 Codfish Bowl Championships. For his efforts hewas named to the All-Tournament team in 1971.
Named an ECAC Player of the Week as a junior and senior, Cullenestablished himself as one of the most gifted student-athletes toever wear the Green and Gold. When not on the ice, Cullen was afour-time Dean’s List honoree, and received the Boston StateCollege Scholar Athlete Award at the end of his senior season.
On the ice he closed out his junior campaign ranked second onthe team with 24 points, which he then surpassed as a senior with acombined 38 points in 1972. Defensively solid, Cullen wasconsidered a top penalty killer, but when given the opportunity wasable to make things happen offensively. He finished with 81 totalpoints (35 goals, 46 assists) in 66 games.
