Women’s Cross Country Opens Season at UMD Invitational

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Led by newcomer Brianna Steele (Rutland, Mass.), the women's cross country team made their 2018 debut Saturday afternoon at the UMass Dartmouth Corsairs Invitational.

40th out of 45 teams (1,105 points)

HOW IT HAPPENED

In her first collegiate meet, Steele posted a team-best time of 21:23.72 to finish in 165th place overall in one of the largest New England meets.  Behind her was Patriciah Mulinge (Brockton, Mass.) in 185th place and a time of 21:44.76.  Chantal Clerveaux (Boston, Mass.) posted a time of 23:34.28, while Erin Hiltz (Bridgewater, Mass.) crossed the finish line with a time of 25:16.93.  Caroline Mullen (Marshfield, Mass.) closed out the meet for the Beacons with a final time of 29:09.39.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Beacons will be back in action in two weeks when they compete at the annual Codfish Bowl at Franklin Park.
