BOSTON, Mass. – In their last regular season meet before the conference championship, the cross country teams returned to Franklin Park to compete in the 2017 Emmanuel College Saints Invitational Friday afternoon.
Men – 6th out of 23 teams
Women – 16th out of 22 teams
HOW IT HAPPENED
For the men's team they saw William Barrett (Everett, Mass.) record the fastest time for the Beacons as he crossed the finish line with a time of 27:30 to earn a 12th place finish. On the women's side veteran runner Adrianna Fredo (Brockton, Mass.) collected the team's best time, as she recorded a time of 23:06. Right behind her was Patriciah Mulinge (Brockton, Mass.) who finished with a time of 23:11.
Jimmy Cannon (Quincy, Mass.) collected the second fastest time for the Beacons men's team as he posted a final time of 28:22, while Cam Ford (Worcester, Mass.) completed the 8K race with a time of 28:30. Prosper Lubega (Watertown, Mass.) and Jack Bushway (Walpole, Mass.) nearly crossed the finish line at the same time, with Lubega edging out his teammate with a time of 28:55, while Bushway posted a time of 28:58.
Chantal Clerveaux (Boston, Mass.) posted a time of 25:28 for the women's team, and Faye Martin recorded a time of 26:09. Natasha Wright then registered a time of 26:53, while Caroline Mullen (Marshfield, Mass.) completed the race with a time of 27:08. Taylor Driggers (Providence, R.I.) and Olivia Burnes (Paxton, Mass.) closed out the 5K with times of 28:03 and 28:14.
Closing out the men's race on Friday was Jack Davis (Southwick, Mass.) with his time of 29:37, and Adrian Higgins who finished with a time of 32:52.
The Beacons will travel to Keene State College next Saturday for the Little East Conference/New England Alliance Championship.
