CENTERVILLE, Mass. - After a standout freshman season, in which she helped the 22nd ranked volleyball team to their fifth straight Little East tournament title, and third NCAA Regional crown in the last four seasons, middle hitter Julia Murphy (Canton, Mass.) has been named an ECAC Division III New England Second Team All-Star.
Murphy, who was named a Second Team selection by the Little East and All-Rookie Team honoree by NEWVA was the only player from the Little East Conference to be named an ECAC All-Star.
In 2013, the Canton native led the Beacons in kills per game with 2.35 and finished with a team-best .298 hitting percentage. Having played in a total of 144 games, the freshman middle finished with 31 aces, which was tied for fourth most on the team, and had a team-best 117 blocks (25 solo blocks, 92 block assists).
