LEXINGTON, Kentucky – After being named the program's first Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year earlier this week, freshman libero Elizabeth Glavan (Edina, Minn.) was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Region Honorable Mention.
The first libero to ever be named an All-Region selection in the program's history, Glavan has had a standout freshman season with the Beacons. The conference leader in digs with 574 (5.27 dpg), Glavan was named a three-time Little East Defensive Player of the Week and one-time ECAC New England Player of the Week. In a total of 109 games played this season, Glavan was by far the most consistent player in New England, Glavan recorded a total of 696 service receptions. Throughout the season Glavan put-up big numbers as played a major part in helping the Beacons to their fifth straight Little East Tournament title. Her top performance this season came when she recorded 39 digs in the 3-2 loss to Haverford College, which set a new program record for digs in a match. Not only was she dangerous in the back row, but she was just as dangerous at the end-line as she finished the year with 39 aces.
