Volleyball Opens Up NCAA Regional Play Today at 3 p.m.
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Volleyball's hunt for their third NCAA Regional crown begins this afternoon as they take on the Blue of Wellesley College at 3 p.m. in the first round of the NCAA Regional Tournament hosted by Williams College. The Beacons, who are the reigning regional champions, are looking to move one step closer to making a second-straight appearance in the National Championship Tournament.
Friday's match will mark the first-ever meeting between the Beacons and the Blue in NCAA Tournament play. The two teams did meet earlier this season with Wellesley earning a 3-0 decision over UMass. Since that meeting the Beacons went on a run to end the regular season ranked in the top-15 in New England. Overall the Beacons have competed in the NCAA Regional tournament a five times and have hoisted the hardware twice in 2010 and 2012.
