CENTERVILLE, Mass. - For the first time this season and for the first time in their careers senior setter Megan Pollock (Wilton, Calif.) and freshman libero Elizabeth Glavan (Edina, Minn.) have been named the ECAC New England Players of the Week.
Pollock, who captured her third Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week honor on Monday, led the Beacons to their fifth straight LEC regular season title last week as well as a 3-1 record. The California native averaged 8.80 assists per game and led UMB to a 3-1 upset over nationally ranked Roger Williams University. She tallied at-least 30 assists in every match and recorded 34 in the wins over Vassar College and Roger Williams. She also recorded 30 helpers in the win over Plymouth State University to give the Beacons a perfect 7-0 record in conference play. She also finished the week with 12 kills, 25 digs and one ace respectively.
Glavan grabbed her first regional weekly honor after averaging 5.87 digs per game for the Beacons. The three-time LEC Defensive Player of the Week put-up at-least 20 digs in two of the four matches played last week. In the 3-2 loss to Wisconsin-Oshkosh she tallied 31 digs and registered 20 put-ups in the 3-0 win over Plymouth State.
