BOSTON, Mass. – With the fall season just a few short months away, volleyball announced its 2012 schedule this afternoon, which will once again feature some of the top competition in all of Division III volleyball.
The Beacons will begin their 2012 season in California when they face both California Lutheran University and the University of La Verne on August 31 as part of the Pomona Pitzer Pacific Coast Classic. They will then close out the two day tournament with matches against the University of Minnesota Morris and North Central College (Ill.).
The team's first Little East Conference match is slated for September 13 when the Beacons host the Warriors of Eastern Connecticut State University at 6 p.m. in the newly renovated Clark Athletic Center Gym. The Beacons first home match of the 2012 season will take place on Tuesday's September 11 when they host Colby-Sawyer College at 6 p.m.
Also on the docket this season will be regionally and nationally ranked opponents like Bowdoin College (Sept. 25), Wellesley University (Sept. 28), and Tufts University (Oct. 2) to name a few. UMass will also host its annual tri-match tournament on October 13 and 14.
The 2012 Little East Conference tournament is scheduled to begin on October 30 and will end on Sunday, November 4.
