No. 6 Women’s Track & Field Shines at NCAA Regional Championship

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – With a first-place finish by Wadeline Jonathas and the 4x400-meter relay the sixth ranked women's track and field team posted a 10th place finish at the NCAA Division III Regional championship hosted by Springfield College. 

THE BASICS

Women's – 10th out of 35 teams (25 pts.)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Jonathas posted a first-place finish in the 60-meter dash and registered a new meet record with a time of 7.52 seconds.  Abigail Jean-Baptiste also competed in the 60 on Saturday, and finished the prelims with 8.17 seconds. 

In the 4x4, Jonathas, Lexy Bean, Olivia Burnes, and Taylor Driggers posted an impressive time of 3:58.20 seconds to win the event to give the Beacons 10 more points. 

Driggers, also picked-up a fourth-place finish in the triple jump, with her final distance of 37-04.00 feet.

The Beacons will compete at the Boston University Last Chance Meet on Sunday.
