(UMass Boston 3-9)
(Regis College 12-7)

HOW IT HAPPENED

The undermanned Beacons were no match for Regis, who was already playing their eighth match of the spring.

For the second-straight day, the Beacons were forced to start in a 2-0 hole due to only having five available players.

Katie Gauthier (West Boylston, Mass.) and Meaghan Moriarty (Norton, Mass.) opened the match with an 8-1 defeat at first singles.

The Pride tacked on an 8-3 win at second doubles, as Oriana Attridge and Kaeleigh FitzPatrick held off Annie Fidelia (Medford, Mass.) and Tuyet Nguyen (Dorchester, Mass.).

Regis quickly clinched the match victory early in singles play, as they earned straight-set sweeps at fourth and fifth singles.

Fidelia kept the first set close at third singles, before falling 6-3, 6-0 to Katasha Jarvis.

Gauthier was the lone Beacon to win games in both sets of her singles match, as she fell 6-2, 6-1 at first singles.
