HOW IT HAPPENED

Less than 24-hours after securing their spot in the Little East Conference Tournament the Beacons had to face a tough opponent in the Corsairs in their regular season finale.

Battling through injury the Beacons put-up a valiant effort, but the Corsairs managed to earn the conference victory as they head into next week's tournament as the second-seed.

Collecting the only win for the Beacons in doubles play was Kristy Garcia (Miami, Fla.) and Katie Gauthier (West Boylston, Mass.).  The duo earned a solid 8-3 win over the Corsairs top singles pair of Jenna Lahaie and Jaime Fastino.

In singles play, Garcia and Lahaie went the distance as they went to a super tiebreaker.  Lahaie would earn the victory 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7).  Kathleen Conroy (Quincy, Mass.) collected her second singles win of the week, as she registered a 6-4, 6-3 win at second flight.  Gauthier owned the third Beacons win, as she cruised to a 6-2, 6-4 win at third flight.
