BOSTON, Mass.—UMass Boston women's tennis will not only host Senior Day on Saturday, but the Beacons will hold their annual "Hit It To Win It" fundraiser, when the team takes on Plymouth State University at 1 p.m.
Friends, family and fans can come out to the B.C. High School Tennis Courts to help raise money for the Jimmy Fund of Boston. Anyone in attendance will have the opportunity to show off their tennis skills in a variety of different games as part of Saturday's fundraiser with a chance to win some great prizes.
UMass Boston will also be honoring their two seniors: Hieu Nguyen (Dorchester, Mass.) and Wendy Steinman (Dudley, Mass.) in a must-win contest against the Panthers. With a win Saturday, UMass Boston could clinch a spot in the Little East Conference Tournament for a second consecutive season.
Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has supported the fight against cancer in children and adults at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, helping to raise the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world. For more information about the Jimmy Fund visit http://www.jimmyfund.org.
