LOUISVILLE, Ky.—For the first time in her standout career, junior outfielder Kristina Bove (Medford, Mass.) has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All Region Team, the NFCA announced over the weekend.
Bove, who was named to the Little East Conference Second Team last week, earned a spot on the NFCA Division III All New England Third Team. With the award, Bove becomes the second Beacon in program history to be recognized by the NFCA-joined by three-time All Region honoree Sue Killilea ('13).
She was one of 10 Little East Conference players to be named to the New England All Region teams.
In 36 games this season, Bove set new career-highs in batting average (.396), on-base percentage (.470), slugging percentage (.485), hits (40), runs (14) and runs batted in (16). A year after being named to the Little East Conference Second Team, the Beacons' starting left-fielder finished in the top ten in the LEC in batting average and on-base percentage, while belting nine doubles and stealing six bases in six attempts.
She stepped her game up significantly in conference contests, as Bove hit .400 in 14 conference contests, with 18 hits, five doubles and nine RBI.
A year after recording one of the Beacons' longest hitting streaks of the year at seven games, Bove posted a 10-game hitting streak in early April in which she hit .576 (15-for-26) and helped the team go 5-5 during the stretch.
