NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.—For the second consecutive season, junior outfielder Kristina Bove (Medford, Mass.) has been named to the Little East Conference All-Conference Softball Team, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Bove was named to the Second Team for the second-straight season and becomes the first Beacon outfielder in program history to earn multiple All-Conference accolades. She joins former teammate Sue Killilea ('12) and Andrea Ciarletta ('07) as the only Beacons in program-history to have been named to the LEC All-Conference Teams on more than one occasion.
The Medford, Mass. native moved up in the lineup and was the most consistent hitter all season long for the Beacons, while playing stellar defense in left field.
Bove led UMass Boston with her .396 batting average, .470 on-base percentage and 40 total hits. She also tied for the team-lead with her nine doubles and ranked second with 16 runs batted in and a .485 slugging percentage.
On the base paths, Bove swiped a career-high six stolen bases on six attempts and tied for second on the squad with her 14 runs scored.
She ranked amongst the top 10 in the Little East Conference in batting average (sixth), on-base percentage (third) and hit by pitches (tied for first with four).
In 36 games played, Bove hit safely in 25 contests and reached base in 29 of 36 games. The second-year Beacon recorded 11 multiple-hit games and registered a career-high 10-game hitting streak in early April.
Bove enjoyed one of the best doubleheaders of her season on April 10 in a sweep of Framingham State University. She finished 5-for-6 with five runs scored and three RBI, to help UMass Boston earn their lone home doubleheader sweep of the year.
Two weeks later, Bove led the Beacons to their only two LEC wins of the season, with a career day at the University of Southern Maine. The Beacons' leadoff hitter finished 4-for-7 with two doubles and four RBI, including recording the game-winning RBI single in the Beacons' 6-5 game one victory.
