Sue Killilea Named To NFCA Second Team All Region
LOUISVILLE, Ky.—For the third time in her illustrious career, senior Sue Killilea (Abington, Mass.) was named a National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III All-New England honoree, the Association announced Friday afternoon
Killilea earned a spot on the Second Team All-New England Regional Team to become the first player in UMB Softball history to be honored three times. In 2010 she was named a Second Team member as a catcher and she was a Third Team honoree last year.
The senior second baseman led the Beacons to their program-record third consecutive Little East Conference Tournament appearance and finished amongst the team and league leaders in several batting categories.
Earlier this month, Killilea became the first Beacon in program history to be named to a Little East All-Conference player all four years, after being named to the First Team for the third time in four seasons.
She led the Beacons with a .398 batting average in 35 starts and paced the squad with a .465 on-base percentage and .628 slugging percentage. Killilea also belted a team-high 18 extra-base hits, with 11 doubles, six triples and one home run.
In 113 at-bats, Killilea finished second on the team with 45 hits, 24 runs scored and six stolen bases, while driving in 14 batters.
