PAWTUCKET, R.I. – After leading the Beacons back to the conference tournament semi-final round, junior Jaclyn O'Grady (Somers, Conn.) and senior Jessi Beverlin (Eagle River, Alaska) earned All-Little East Conference Second Team honors.
The All-Conference honor is the second in the career of O'Grady, who successfully made the transition to the Beacons backline in 2017. For Beverlin she ended her career as a Beacon with her first All-Conference selection.
During her junior season, O'Grady helped to anchor the Beacons defense which posted a total of three shutouts over the final three weeks of the regular season. Two of those shutouts came against Little East opponents, including the Beacons 2-0 win over Rhode Island College in the first round of the conference tournament. The junior earned her first weekly honor of the season on October 10 after leading the Beacons to back-to-back victories, both by shutout. She helped UMB secure a spot in the top-4 in the conference standings after netting the game-winning goal against the University of Southern Maine.
For Beverlin, her last season on the harbor campus was an impressive one. As the Beacons top playmaker, Beverlin tallied a combined eight assists, and had one goal. Her best performance of the year came when she registered a pair of assists, in the Beacons 5-2 victory over Plymouth State University. She also recorded an assist in back-to-back matches including the 1-1 tie with Rhode Island College. Her lone goal of the campaign, came in the 4-0 rout of UMass Dartmouth on October 14.
After missing a pair of games, the senior from Alaska tallied an assist in three straight contests. Her first was in the 2-0 win over Bridgewater State University on October 24. She then assisted on the Beacons only goal in the loss to Western Connecticut State University. Beverlin then recorded her final collegiate point in the 2-0 tournament win over the Anchorwomen.
