Two From Soccer Earn NSCAA All-New England Region Honors
BOSTON, Mass. – For the first-time in the history of the University of Massachusetts Boston men’s and women’s soccer programs each team had a player named a NSCAA Division III All-New England Region selection, with Stefanos Galouzis (Watertown, Mass.) earning first-team honors and Samantha Place (Newton, N.J.) earning fourth-team honors.

Three Earn NEWISA Division III All-New England Honors
BOSTON, Mass. – For the first time in their careers, seniors Samantha Place (Newton, N.J.) and Kristin Mulry (Holbrook, Mass.), and freshman Krista Ledin (Bridgewater, Mass.) were named NEWISA Division III All-New England selections. Mulry and Place were named First Team All-Region honorees, while Ledin was named a Second Team All-Region selection.

Place Named to NEWISA Senior Bowl Game
BOSTON, Mass. – Senior women’s soccer player Samantha Place (Newton, N.J.) has been selected to compete in the Division III NEWISA Senior Bowl Game on Sunday, December 4 at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts. With the selection, Place becomes the first player in the program’s history to be invited to compete in the annual senior game, which will feature the top women’s soccer players from New England.

Worcester State Sneaks by Women's Soccer in ECAC Semi-Finals
WORCESTER, Mass. – With an unassisted goal from Danielle Clifford in the 75th minute the top-seeded Lancers of Worcester State University (14-5-2) edged fourth-seeded women’s soccer (14-7-2) by the final score of 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Coughlin Field in the semi-final round of the 2011 ECAC New England Tournament.

BOSTON, Mass. – Following their 3-1 win over Endicott College yesterday afternoon, the fourth seed Beacons (14-6-2) will travel to first-seeded Worcester State University to face the Lancers in the semi-final round of the ECAC New England Region Tournament on Saturday at noon.

Women's Soccer Advances in ECAC Tournament Behind K. Ledin's Hat Trick
BOSTON, Mass. – With her fifth hat-trick of the season, freshman forward and 2011 Little East Conference Rookie of the Year Krista Ledin (Bridgewater, Mass.) carried women’s soccer (14-6-2) to a 3-1 win over Endicott College (12-9-0) Wednesday afternoon in the quarterfinal round of the ECAC New England Tournament.

K. Ledin Earns Conference Rookie of the Year Honors
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – For the third-time in the last four seasons, women’s soccer has had a player earn Little East Conference Rookie of the Year honors. This season, that major award went to the conference’s leading goal scorer and point earner Krista Ledin (Bridgewater, Mass.). The freshman was also named a First Team All-Conference selection as announced by the conference executive office.

Men's and Women's Soccer Earn Bids to ECAC New England Tournaments
BOSTON, Mass. - For the first time in the history of University of Massachusetts Boston soccer both the men's and women's soccer programs will be competing in a postseason tournament in the same year. Both teams not only earned a bid to the ECAC New England Region tournament, but they were also selected as the fourth-seed. Women's Soccer will host #5 Endicott College on Wednesday at 2 p.m., while men's soccer will travel to #5 Norwich University for a 1 p.m. match, which will also be played on Wednesday.
