CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Just three days after leading women's ice hockey to their first-ever Codfish Bowl tournament championship sophomore goalie Casey Schaejbe (Arlington, Mass.) has been named the ECAC East Goaltender of the Week as announced by the conference office. Sophomore forward Samantha Fallon (Pembroke, Mass.) was named to the Honor Roll for her standout play last week as well.
Schaejbe was a wall for the Beacons as they claimed the first-ever tournament championship in program history. Over the course of the two day tournament, the Arlington native registered a combined 50 stops and also picked-up a huge shutout with the 2-0 victory over Connecticut College in the championship game. In the first game of the 7th Annual tournament, Schaejbe made 24 stops in the 4-3 win over Stevenson University. In the championship game, Schaejbe was brilliant from the opening face-off as the sophomore completely neutralized the Camels offense with her 29 saves. The shutout victory marked the second of the season for her.
Fallon was named to the Honor Roll after scoring the game-winning goal in both tournament games. She would score the game clincher in the first round win over Stevenson University in the closing minutes of the third period. The sophomore forward then scored the Beacons first goal in the championship game against Connecticut College.
