DARTMOUTH, Mass. – After a week off from competition the cross country teams returned to action at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, with Cameron Chase (Lutz, Fla.) and Maddy Scott (Westhampton, Mass.) leading their respective teams Saturday afternoon.
Men – 26th out of 33 teams
Women – 32nd out of 37 teams
HOW IT HAPPENED
For Chase he posted a final time of 27:59.44 lead the men's squad, while Scott tripped the sensor with teammate Madison Harmon (East Sandwich, Mass.) right behind her. The runners recorded times of 21:42.09 and 21:43.27 respectively.
Jeffrey Noyes (Weymouth, Mass.) posted the second fastest time for the men's squad as he crossed the finish line with a time of 28:35.76. Rokas Piragis (Brockton, Mass.) and Adrianna Fredo (Brockton, Mass.) each posted the third fastest times for their teams, with Piragis earning a final time of 29:46.82. Fredo finished Saturday's meet with a time of 22:29.07 overall.
Newcomer Terry Williams (Saint Mary's, Ga.) earned a time of 31:06.63 to finish in the top-4 for the Beacons. Audrie Cortes (Bogota, Colombia) notched a final time of 24:13.34 to close out the meet.
The Beacons will compete at the annual Codfish Bowl meet at Franklin Park next Saturday.
