Cross Country Runs at Little East/N.E. Alliance Championship
WESTFIELD, Mass. – Seniors Jake Kerin (Quincy, Mass.) and Nicole Sidiropoulos (Carver, Mass.) continued to run hard this time at the 2012 Little East Conference/New England Alliance Championship meet, which was hosted by Westfield State University. Kerin led the men's team to a 6th/13th place finish at Saturday's meet while Sidiropoulos was one of two Beacons to compete on the women's side.
For Kerin his afternoon ended with a final time of 27:45.07 to earn a 25th/39th place finish overall. For Sidiropoulos she crossed the finish line with a time of 20:46.57 to earn 30th/52nd place in her first LEC championship meet. The only other Beacon to compete for the women's squad was Ari Leao (New Bedford, Mass.). The junior posted a final time of 23:26.51 to earn 53rd/106th place respectively.
Back on the men's side, Tad Delaney (Halifax, Mass.) recorded the Beacons second fastest time as he crossed the finish line with a final time of 28:34.13 (38th/63rd). Behind him was Tyler Colbert (Groveland, Mass.) in 56th/121st place with his time of 32:03.73. On Colbert's heals for most of the afternoon was Joe Miller (Hull, Mass.) who finished a mere six seconds behind his teammate with a time of 32:09.85 (61st/122nd).
Matt Nardiello (Swampscott, Mass.) and Chris Chapman (Brockton, Mass.) closed out Saturday's meet right next to each other as they posted times of 34:15.38 (61st/137th) and 34:52.54 (62nd/142nd) respectively.
Cross Country returns to action on November 10 when they take part in the NCAA Division III New England Regional meet at Westfield State University.
