Amedoadzi Leads Men’s Track and Field at Regional Championship

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Led by a first-place finish from Bless Amedoadzi (Boston, Mass.), the men's track and field team recorded a 15th place finish at the NCAA Division III Regional Championship meet hosted by Middlebury College Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS

Men's – 15th out 28 teams (12 pts)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Amedoadzi picked-up the regional championship with a final time of 6.94 seconds in the 60-meter dash, which was a new personal best.  The junior sprinter beat out Matt Adiletta from WPI by .02 seconds to earn the first-place finish and 10 points.  Amedoadzi qualified for the finals of the 60 with a time of 7.02 seconds. 

Senior Dom Nda (Pittsfield, Mass.) also qualified for the finals of the 60 with his prelim time of 7.07 seconds.  In the final she finished with a time of 7.04 seconds. 

In the 200-meter dash, Anthony Nguyen posted a final time of 23.30 seconds to earn 19th place overall. 

For the distance medley relay team of Prosper Lubega (Watertown, Mass.), Nguyen, William Barrett (Everett, Mass.), and Adrian Higgins (Milton, Mass.) they posted a combined time of 10:58.98 to earn a top-10 finish.

The Beacons will be back in action next Sunday when they compete in the Boston University Last Chance Meet.
