PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Junior sprinter Bless Amedoadzi (Boston, Mass.) has been named the Little East Conference Track Athlete of the Week, while sophomore Wadeline Jonathas (Gonaives, Haiti) has been named the Little East Track and Field Athlete of the Week respectively.
At the NEICAAA Regional Championship on Saturday, Amedoadzi competed in the finals of the 60-meter dash. As the lone Division III sprinter to qualify for the finals, the Boston native finished with a time of 7.02 seconds, which was a new person best for the junior. He qualified for the finals with a time of 7.03 seconds.
Jonathas, added another national record to her resume on Saturday, as she set a new standard in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.43 seconds. Jonathas now owns two national records this season (60 & 400), and has earned a conference weekly honor every week since the start of the 2017-18 indoor season. Jonathas, also posted a new program and meet record in the long jump, as she finished with a distance of 20-07.25 feet.
