Sprinters Compete at New England Indoor Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – At the 2014 NCAA New England Indoor Championship meet three sprinters represented UMass Boston men's track and field in the 60 and 200 meter dashes Saturday afternoon at MIT.

In the 60 it was Shawn Lawson (Westford, Mass.) and Fritz Gustave (Fall River, Mass.), while in the 200 it was Lawson, Gustave, and Kelly Desane (Cambridge, Mass.).

Lawson finished the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.21 seconds to earn 19th place, while in the 200 he finished with a time of 23.10 to earn eighth place.  Gustave finished in 32nd place (7.32_ in the 60 before earning a 19th place (23.39) finish in the 200.  For Desane he finished the 200 with a time of 23.94 to take 23rd place overall.

Track and Field return to action next weekend when they compete at the NEICAAA Championship meet hosted by Boston University.
