NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – On Monday, the Little East Conference announced that freshmen Tylor Hart (Track and Field), Vinny DeLucia (Men's Basketball), and Kirsten Morrison (North Reading, Mass.) have been ranked Rookies of the Week for their respective sports.
Hart earned his second LEC Rookie Field Athlete of the Week honor after placing first at the Little East Conference/New England Alliance Championship meet on Saturday. The Newton, Massachusetts native leaped his way to a gold medal in the high jump with a height of 6-06.25 feet. Men's track and field went on to finish third at the conference championship, which is the best finish ever for the men's program.
DeLucia averaged 26.5 points per game for men's basketball last week. The Miami, Florida native shot 52.9% from the field (18-for-34) against Little East Conference opponents Southern Maine and Plymouth State University. From 3-point range DeLucia was red-hot as went 9-for-18, which included a 6-for-9 showing against Southern Maine on Tuesday. It was also in that game, that DeLucia dropped in a career-high 29 points. Four days later he recorded 24 points in the loss to Plymouth State University.
Morrison was a double-double machine last week as women's basketball remained in the playoff hunt with a 1-1 finish. On the week, Morrison registered 23.5 points and 14.5 rebounds per game, while also shooting 50% (18-for-36) from the field. Against Southern Maine, the North Reading, Massachusetts native scored 25 points and pulled down 13 rebounds. In Saturday's overtime win over Plymouth State she managed 22 points and 16 boards in a career-high 41 minutes of playing time.
