Joseph and Nasso Earn Little East Conference Rookie of the Week Honors

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Freshman men's basketball player Carl Joseph (Brockton, Mass.) and freshman track and field member Kebba Nasso (Attleboro, Mass.) have each been named Little East Conference Rookies of the week for their respective sports.  For Joseph it is his first conference honor, while it marks the second for Nasso.

Joseph picked-up his weekly honor after averaging 12.7 points per game last week.  However it was his defensive play that really stood-out as the 6'5" forward posted six blocks in the loss to Tufts University, which was one block shy of tying the single-game record at UMass Boston.  Joseph started the week off by recorded 14 points and seven rebounds in the loss to UMass Dartmouth.  He then recorded 14 points and six rebounds to go along with his six blocked shots in the non-conference loss to Tufts University on Thursday.  Joseph capped off the week at Keene State by recording 10 points and five rebounds against the Owls.

For Nasso, this past Saturday marked another record setting performance for the Attleboro native.  At the Boston University Terrier Classic Nasso closed out the 400 meter dash with a career-best time of 48.96 seconds to lead all Division III sprinters in the event on his way to a top-10 finish overall.  The time also currently stands as one of the fastest in the country as well.  Later in the day, Nasso helped the 4x400 relay team set a new program record with a combined time of 3:23.73.
