NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA - University of Massachusetts Boston men's soccer player Romeo Zeqo (Volos, Greece/Medford (MA) HS) has been named a Little East Conference First Team All-Star it was announced today by the conference.

Zeqo becomes the first player in school history to be named to the Little East Conference First Team three times. He was among the LEC's top offensive players all season, ranking among the top six in points, goals and assists per game. The midfielder saw action in 13 matches on the season and netted nine goals to give him 0.69 per contest to rank second in the conference, while his 22 points for an average of 1.69 per outing placed him third among league leaders. The senior also registered four assists to average 0.31 per match to put him sixth in the LEC. He led the Beacons in points, goals and assists, despite missing three matches during the season and compiled a .220 shot percentage to also top the squad. Zeqo tallied three or more points in three matches during the campaign, including a career-high of nine with four goals and an assist in the Beacons' 8-3 victory over Newbury College on October 9.

A Medford High School product, Zeqo has established himself as one of the greatest players in UMass Boston history, starting all but one of 65 matches, while ranking third on the school's career points (83) and goals (34) list, while standing sixth in career assists with 15. He is also the first UMB player with 20-plus point-seasons in three straight years since Charlie Keskinidis did it from 1987-90. Zeqo was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas All-New England Region third team in both 2006 and 2007 and was a First Team All-New England Region selection by D3kicks.com in 2006.

The Beacons finished the season with an 4-12-0 overall record, including 0-7-0 in Little East Conference play.
