NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Little East Conference has named sophomore back Dylan Hawkins (North Easton, Mass.) and sophomore goalkeeper Alfonso Rosales (Revere, Mass.) this week's Little East Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week respectively.
The weekly honors are the first for both players, who have been instrumental in leading UMB men's soccer to a 3-1 start under first-year head coach Jake Beverlin.
The duo have anchored the Beacons backfield which is currently a two game shutout streak which included a 1-0 victory of Suffolk University a 7-0 win over Emmanuel College. On the year Rosales and the Beacons defense have just allowed three goals, with two of those coming in the season opener against Fitchburg State University.
Between the goal posts, Rosales has managed a goal against average of 1.14 and has combined for 14 saves, including five in the shutout win over Suffolk. Along with teammate Camilo Florez (Manizales, Colombia) the duo has not surrendered a goal in over 259 minutes of playing time.
