Mark C. Webber, MS, ATC, NASM-PES of Mansfield, Massachusetts was named the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and Assistant Athletic Trainer at UMass Boston in August.
Webber serves as the primary contact for establishing and implementing fitness and training programs for all of UMass Boston’s 18 varsity programs. Prior to his arrival in Boston, Webber served as a graduate assistant, while studying for his Master’s Degree at California University of Pennsylvania.
There, Webber worked with the track and field, cross-country, and tennis programs. Amongst his many responsibilities he had to organize all medical information from the athletes, perform pre-participation screenings, as well as provide treatment and rehabilitation services on a daily basis. Webber graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in May with his master’s in Athletic Training.
As an undergraduate he attended Merrimack College, where he graduated from in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training. No stranger to college athletics, Webber was a four-year member of the Merrimack Men’s Lacrosse team, and served as its team captain in his senior year.
Webber currently holds multiple state and national certifications and is a member of the National Athletic Trainer Association (NATA), the Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts (ATOM), and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
