Lacrosse Falls To Keene State In Little East Conference Match-Up

KEENE, N.H. – A total of 15 different players found the back of the cage as Keene State College defeated lacrosse by the final of 22-3 Saturday afternoon at the Owl Athletic Complex.

The Owls quickly jumped out to a commanding lead in the first quarter as they outscored the Beacons 8-0 through the first 15 minutes of play.  The Beacons finally got on the board in the second with a Kroy Arnold (Syracuse, N.Y.) goal at the 8:37 mark, with Calvin Lee (Hopkinton, Mass.) assisting on the play.

Unfortunately, the Owls would rattle-off four more goals to jump out to a 12-1 lead.  Eric Wollrath (Groton, Mass.) netted the final goal of the first half for the Beacons to make it 12-2 going into the break.

In the third, Keene State notched just three goals, but then extended their lead in the fourth as they outscored UMB 7-1 over the final frame.

Lee recorded the final goal for the Beacons.  Alex Surette (Melrose, Mass.) tallied his most saves in conference play, as the freshman standout registered 17 stops. 


  • Keene State outshot the Beacons 62-10 and held a 48-27 advantage in ground balls
  • The Owls were also 21-for-28 on the face-off "X"
  • The Beacons finished 0-for-6 on man-up attempts and were charged with a season-high 37 turnovers
  • On the day the Beacons netminders registered 212 stops


The Beacons will host UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in a Little East Conference game.
