HENNIKER, N.H. – Led by Brett Kilar's 42 saves the Pilgrims of New England College handed men's hockey a 3-0 New England Hockey Conference loss Friday evening at Lee Clement Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Pilgrims recorded a goal in each period to pick-up the conference win with only one game remaining the 2016-17 regular season. With Friday's loss the Beacons still remain sixth in the conference standings, with tournament play set to begin next Saturday.
Between the pipes, Bailey MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass.) registered 18 saves after not appearing in the Beacons last two games.
NEC got on the board in the first period thanks to a Bryce Nielsen power-play goal at the 3:05 mark. The Beacons offense would continue to pound the Pilgrims' defense throughout the frame, but they could not find the back of the net despite a combined 17 shots.
In the second period, it was Keenan Haase who made it a two-goal affair early in the frame, while in the third the Pilgrims sealed the win on an empty-netter thanks to Carols Fornaris.
On the power-play the Beacons finished 0-for-6, while NEC went finished 1-for-2.
