Men's Hockey Debuts At Number 10 In Regional Rankings

BOSTON, Mass.--UMass Boston Men's Hockey continued their unprecedented run in the national polls earning a spot in the first NCAA Regional Rankings of 2013 along with both national polls.

The Beacons debuted at number 10 in the East in the NCAA Regional Rankings. The regional rankings help determine which teams make the 11-team NCAA Division III Hockey Tournament and the seeding of all 11 teams.

In the national polls, UMass Boston came in at number 12 in the D3Hockey.Com Top 15 and USCHO.com National Poll, after going 1-1 over the extended weekend.

Peter Belisle's squad is off to a 17-4-2 start and can clinch the second seed in the upcoming ECAC East Tournament with a victory Friday night against St. Michael's College. The game coincides with UMB's Annual "Pink The Rink" Game, as the Beacons will sport pink laces and pink tape on their sticks to support Breast Cancer Research and Awareness.
