CENTERVILLE, Mass.—For the second time this season, freshman Peter MacIntyre (Norfolk, Mass.) was named ECAC East Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday evening
The award marks the fourth time in five weeks that a UMass Boston player has received the award, as freshman Zach Andrews (Coral Springs, Fla.) and Max Reavis (Omaha, Neb.) were recognized the past two weeks.
MacIntyre led the Beacons to a 1-1 week in Vermont, with two goals and two assists. The second-line winger recorded two goals and two assists Saturday in a 10-3 win over St. Michael's College, to help the Beacons put up their most goals in a single game since January of 1997.
On the year, MacIntyre has scored nine goals and added seven assists in just 14 games, to help the Beacons to their first sustained run in the national polls in over a decade. He enters the week 10th in the nation amongst Division II/III freshman with a 1.14 points per game average.
The Beacons will have a busy week ahead of them, as they play three games in five days, starting Tuesday night against Southern New Hampshire University at the Clark Athletic Ice Arena starting at 7 p.m.
