Bendel Named ECAC East Goalie of the Week

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – For the third time this season, senior goaltender Kevin Bendel (Denville, N.J.) has been named the ECAC East conference Goalie of the Week.  This time he shares that weekly honor with Andrew Peabody of Babson College as the two were named Co-Goalies of the Week by the conference office.

In his final regular season game of his career, Bendel totaled 34 saves to lead UMass Boston to a 5-1 win conference win over St. Michael's College.  The victory secured the Beacons the fifth seed in this year's conference tournament, which is scheduled to begin on Saturday.  Bendel will enter tournament play carrying a 2.52 goals against average, which ranks fourth in the ECAC East.  His .925 save percentage currently has him second in the conference, while his .591 winning percentage (6-5-1) has him ranked sixth overall.

Men's Hockey will travel to Skidmore College on Saturday for the first round of the ECAC East tournament.  Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
