Tyler Papadinis begins his sixth season with the UMass Boston men's basketball team. The 2014-15 season will mark his first as the newly appointed Associate Head Coach, which was announced in October.
During the past few seasons, Papadinis has served as the Beacon’s recruiting coordinator. He has helped recruit over 20 student athletes, most notably D3Hoops Northeast Region Rookie of the Year and Little East Conference Rookie of the Year Vinny DeLucia. He also recruited all conference rookie team members Carl Joseph and Dontreal Thomas.
Papadinis also assists in day to day basketball operations, including practice preparation, player development, film breakdown and game-day preparations.
Prior to his arrival at UMass Boston, Papadinis worked for the NBA's New York Knicks as the Basketball Operations Intern. He worked directly with players, coaches and staff members at the Knicks' training facility where he performed various tasks such as scheduling, creating travel itineraries, scouting reports and video coordination.
During his college years, he gained experience in collegiate athletics working for Cornell University and Ithaca College. He performed administrative duties and game-day operations for both schools and took a particular interest in the men's basketball programs.
Papadinis graduated from Ithaca College in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in sports management. He spent 2 years at St. Bonaventure University before transferring to Ithaca College in 2006. In 2012, he graduated from UMass Boston with a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Papadinis works during the school year in several Boston Public Schools and spends his summer working basketball camps across New England. He currently resides in Quincy, Ma.
