Jamie Morrison enters his third season as an assistant men’s basketball coach at UMass Boston.
Currently serving as a faculty member at UMass Boston, Morrison brings a wealth of knowledge to the Beacons bench. A former head coach at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Morrison coached the Trailblazers from 2007-15. The 2013 MASCAC Coach of the Year, Morrison compiled 65 wins during his time in North Adams. Over his eight seasons, Morrison coached nine All-Conference selections, one Rookie of the Year, and 33 All-Academic team selections.
Prior to his arrival at MCLA, Morrison was the head coach at Haskell Indian Nationals University in Lawrence, Kansas. As the head coach Morrison, handled all aspects of the program, which during his time transitioned from NJCAA to NAIA play. Over his four seasons he mentored three All-Conference players, two NAIA All-American Honorable Mention selections, and one All-American Scholar Athlete.
A 1997 graduate of UMass Amherst, Morrison received his Master’s in Education in and Sports and Recreations Administration from Temple University in 2003. He currently serves as the Native Tribal Scholars Director at UMass Boston, and works with the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe in Mashpee, MA.
